Meet Your Meat, a Short Documentary
This documentary exposes the ugly truth behind modern industrial animal farming in the U.S.
It begins, “What you’re about to see is beyond your worst nightmare.” Today, the farming of animals has radically changed from small family farms to enormous, windowless, dark, cruel, crowded, unnatural warehouses or “factories” where animals are not treated like living beings but instead experience horrific conditions on a daily basis. Some of these include: mutilations without the use of anesthesia or pain killers; chronic and severe pain and suffering; severe confinement and overcrowding; complete denial of routine veterinary care; animals are chronically sick, diseased, injured and suffering without any medical care; animals are not allowed to move, walk, turn-around, and often are forced to live in one position their entire lives; they are forced to eat an unnatural diet that causes daily gastric distress; animals are fed a diet that causes fast growth unnaturally, that is painful for them because their bone structure isn’t designed to carry the weight, so they become unable to walk or stand; they are forced to live in their own waste and breathe the fumes of their waste byproducts 24/7; they experience rampant physical abuse and cruelty from handlers and workers, then are transported to slaughterhouses and are slaughtered often while fully conscious.
This is the truth about meat today. If you eat meat, dairy or eggs—you are eating a lifetime of unbelievable suffering, pain and cruelty. In addition, you are paying people to cruelly slaughter this animal—most often fully conscious—for your one minute of food that you will soon forget. You are consuming the suffering and misery of another living being with every bite you eat, basically. Hard as that is to digest, it is the truth. Today’s animal farms are a nightmare, and living, breathing, feeling animals (just like us) are under attack everyday—for your food.
After watching this video, will you take responsibility to change this? Each one of us has the power to help end this cruelty and endless suffering by simply choosing to eat a plant-based vegan diet.
