Exposing the Humane Hoax – Humane Meat is a Lie
This short, powerful video exposes the truth about how producers of animal meat, dairy and eggs market products using false and deceptive labels to make people feel better about the animals they eat. Labels such as “Free Range,” “Humane,” “Organic,” “Humanely Raised,” and “Grass Fed,” all play on our emotions and work to entice consumers to buy their products. But these products and the way the animals were raised meet no specific government-approved standards and the label designations are entirely unregulated. Animals raised for food, whether labeled “humanely” or not, all experience the same horrible conditions, are subject to very cruel routine practices, suffer in misery, and endure an extremely violent, painful death often fully conscious for several minutes. There is no humane way to kill an animal for food.
This 11-minute film debunks the “humane myth” that animals are treated humanely.

Quotes from the Film
“Do you think you can compassionately kill an animal that does not want to die?”
“How can you humanely slaughter an animal?”
“The animals are terrified in gas chambers, just terrified.”
“This is a system that is based on oppression of other animals, but also oppression of people and the Earth.”
“It’s time to show people the reality of WHO they are eating.”
“How do we help people understand that the way we’re being sold to by Whole Foods and grocers is a complete façade?”
“The ‘Humane Hoax’ is a myth, I live in Marin County and am surrounded by ‘producers’ of meat. There is no way you can justify what you eat by saying that it ‘had a good life but it has to die now, we have to end it now.’”
“We have been taught culturally that ‘this group is deserving of our friendship, companionship and concern; but all these others deserve something else’ – and the industry, big pharma, the government, and massive corporations—have so much money and power, and cleverly manipulate how they present food to us. That it’s easy not to get that this burger had a mom, and she would have liked to experience freedom, and instead she experienced this horrible, terrifying death. All these big, powerful groups have successfully allowed us to say ‘we love our pets, but all these other animals don’t deserve our love or compassion or kindness.’” Not true.
“The Animal AG industry is trying to hold onto the status quo, they have invested heavily in marketing and in the political process and in politicians. But people are now starting to recognize the abuses and cruelty done to animals.”
“This system is based on the oppression of animals, the Earth, the environment, and the workers.”
“People don’t want to confront the reality of what they’re doing—killing animals. And they pretend quite often that they are animal lovers, when they are truly animal killers.”
“When we’re bearing witness on a vigil, we see terrified, sad animals that absolutely don’t want to die; they are smelling blood and death all around them; they are being treated horribly, and we see this—but it gets 100 times worse inside the slaughterhouse. See the film Dominion for the truth.”
“Humane Meat is a fallacy, the animals are treated exactly the same way as all animals raised for food, and they are killed the same way, but there’s just some fancy writing on the package.”
