Directors’ Tom Simon and Sarah Teale (HBOs Dealing Dogs) together tell the story of an animal rights investigator who goes undercover at the Wiles Hog Farm in Ohio to explore a whistleblowers’ allegations. The evidence he gathers leads to a rare prosecution and trial for animal cruelty, and a verdict that surprises nearly everyone.
Over the course of six weeks, an employee who was an undercover reporter secretly filmed numerous scenes of extreme animal cruelty at the Wiles Hog Farm. Once the employee obtained the footage, he left his job and took the footage to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, who raided the farm. Prosecutors filed ten criminal charges of animal cruelty against the farm owners. See the film for the judge’s final verdict.
