Cruelty-Free Shopping Guide
When shopping for cruelty-free products and brands, be sure to look for the Leaping Bunny logo. It’s the only global standard for products that have been officially certified “cruelty free” under the internationally recognized Humane Cosmetics or Humane Household Products Standards. The Leaping Bunny certification requires companies to guarantee that they do not conduct or commission animal testing, nor purchase ingredients from suppliers that have been tested on animals; and that no new animal testing is used in any phase of product development by the company, its laboratories, or ingredient suppliers. The companies listed have proven that their products were not tested on animals through The Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC). CCIC runs the Leaping Bunny program, certifies the companies manufacturing cosmetic, personal care, and household products in the United States and Canada; and is comprised of many, many leading animal protection groups.
Although some products feature labels that claim the brand does not test on animals or they state that they are against animal testing, without the authentic Leaping Bunny logo, there is no actual proof. Any other logo displayed on a product that looks similar to the Leaping Bunny does not represent a guarantee that the product is completely cruelty free.
