A Well-Fed World (AWFW) is based in Washington, DC and works across the partisan, issue, and religious platforms to empower individuals, grassroots groups, and national leaders to address the suffering of animals used and abused for food and the suffering of people hungry from lack of food. AWFW has a dual mission that helps both people and animals in dire need. They advocate for feeding people with sacrificing animals, while eating a healthy, plant-based diet that’s best for people and the environment.
Center for Food Safety (CFS) is a national non-profit public interest and environmental advocacy organization working to protect human health and the environment by curbing the use of harmful food production technologies and by promoting animal welfare and organic and other forms of sustainable agriculture. Through CFS’s True Food Network, they use legal action, groundbreaking scientific and policy reports, books and other educational materials, market pressure and grass roots campaigns to address agriculture issues and reform the system.
Ethical Consumer – Ethical Consumer is an independent, not-for-profit, multi-stakeholder co-operative with open membership, founded in 1989 and based in Manchester. For over 25 years they have been the center of the ethical consumer movement, helping consumers to shop ethically; and campaigning to challenge corporate power and businesses to improve their supply chain. Ethical Food Choices Program – The Ethical Choices Program provides students, communities, businesses and other organizations with vital information about the impact of food choices on human health, the environment and animals. Addressing preventable and reversible diseases, sustainability and ethical concerns, we empower others to think critically and compassionately about the issues, address misconceptions and consider reliable research. Through respectful dialogue and interaction, participants are inspired to make informed food choices that align with their own values.
Food Democracy Now! is a grassroots movement of more than 650,000 farmers and citizens dedicated to building a sustainable food system that protects our natural environment, sustains farmers and nourishes families. They believe in recreating regional food systems, supporting the growth of humane, natural and organic farms, and protecting the environment. They advocate for children’s health, worker’s rights, conservation, and animal welfare over corporate profits.
Food Empowerment Project – Food Empowerment Project seeks to create a more just and sustainable world by recognizing the power of one’s food choices. The nonprofit is a vegan food justice organization and a registered non-profit 501(c)(3) founded in 2007, to encourage healthy food choices that reflect a more compassionate society by spotlighting the abuse of animals on farms, the depletion of natural resources, unfair working conditions for produce workers, and the unavailability of healthy foods in low-income areas.
The Food Revolution Network is an online-based education and advocacy initiative committed to educating people about eating a more healthy, humane, sustainable diet. They advocate for eating more whole, local, sustainably-produces, natural, organic, non-GMO, plant-strong, humane and fairly-traded foods. The website is guided by leading edge doctors, nutritionists, dietitians, scientists, activist, political leaders and teachers that have inspired people for decades.
National Organic Coalition (NOC) is a national alliance of organizations working to provide a voice in Washington D.C. for farmers, ranchers, environmentalists, consumers and industry members involved in organic agriculture. The NOC seeks to advance organic food and agriculture and ensure a united voice for organic integrity.
Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) advocates for preventive medicine, good nutrition through a vegan or vegetarian diet, and higher ethical standards in research through using alternatives to animals in research. A 501c3 nonprofit headquartered in Washington D.C., led by Neal Barnard, PCRM is actively involved in outreach and education about compassionate choices in food, diet and medicine; ending the use of animals in medical school curricula and experimentation and medical research, and advocates for legislative changes on the local and national levels. PCRM runs the Cancer Project and argues that a vegetarian diet can help prevent heart disease, cancer, diabetes, lower blood pressure and reduce chronic illnesses and many other conditions.

Vegan Outreach is a non-profit organization working to expose and end cruelty to animals through the widespread distribution of their illustrated booklets: Why Vegan?, Even If You Like Meat, and Compassionate Choices, along with their follow-up Guide to Cruelty-Free Eating. Vegan Outreach booklets have gone to a diversity of interested individuals, many of whom had no idea about the consequences of their consumption habits, and who possibly would never have otherwise received such compelling information.
Vegan Seafood Guide – From Fish Feel, the first organization devoted to promoting the recognition of fish as sentient beings deserving of respect and compassion—a guide to vegan seafood products, cookbooks, recipes, vegan sushi – and lots of information about the importance of not eating fish.

Veganuary is a new global campaign that encourages people to go vegan for the month of January. With its first launch this year, Veganuary rallied thousands of participants from more than 72 countries around the world. Each participant receives practical advice and support to create an easier transition to veganism and to inspire people to maintain the diet post January. With big plans for expansion, the campaign aims to reach 100,000 participants next year!
VegFund provides grants to vegan activists to support their outreach efforts. They fund programs all over the world that inspire people to go and stay vegan.
